Article 12 of the Indian constitution

article 12 of Indian constitution says :

12. In this Part, unless the context otherwise requires, “the State’’ includes the Government and Parliament of India and the Government and the Legislature of each of the States and all local or other authorities within the territory of India or under the control of the Government of India.

explanation

Article 12 is the first article in Part III of the Constitution of India. Part III deals with the Fundamental Rights provided to the citizens of India.

This article(12) deals with the definition of state and what all comes under the definition of state.

As per this article, if Sate is mentioned in any article of Constitution, the entities which come under the preview of State will be Central Government, Parliament of India, Government and Legislature of State, Local Bodies like Municipality and Panchayat, or any other authority under the control of the government of India or within the territory of India.
